2.008 Yo-Yos

As part of the class 2.008, Design and Manufacturing II, I, along with six other students on my team, were tasked with the design and fabrication of 100 yo-yos. Yo-yos were required to contain at least one injection molded component and one thermoformed component. Teams machined the molds used for injection molding on a CNC mill and 3D-printed the molds used for thermoforming on an SLA printer. We as a team used mass-production and assembly methods to create 100 square yo-yos, all held together with an interference press fit, fine-tuned to pass a drop test.
